Pumpkin Ale Sweet Beer Bread

As soon as I saw this recipe in my Google reader I knew I had to try it ASAP. Who doesn’t love a delicious beer bread and one that can be thrown together before your oven finishes preheating? Golden!

Pumpkin Ale Sweet Beer Bread (courtesy of Jolts & Jollies)

3 c self-rising flour (or 3 c AP flour with 3 3/4 t baking powder and 3/4 t salt)

1/2 c sugar

1 12 oz bottle of beer (I used Blue Moon Harvest Pumpkin)

  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F and spray your loaf pan with baking spray (I adore Baker’s Joy for breads)
  • Stir together your flour, sugar, and beer until combined
  • Pour into your pan and bake for 45 minutes
  • Once finished cool completely in the pan and enjoy!

Maranda used 1/4 c melted butter and baked the bread an additional 10 minutes, I skipped this step so I could test it out for my sister-in-law who has a dairy allergy. We did not miss the butter one bit and after one night have only three slices left. I think this is the perfect way to use up any odd beers left in your fridge and makes a delicious gift for family and friends. Enjoy!
